Singapore weather – Best time to visit Singapore
February is the best month to visit Singapore, followed by May, June and July.
However, anytime is good to visit Singapore – you just have to accept the hot, humid and at times wet weather.
Singapore’s weather is typically hot and humid all year-round, with an average temperature of 27°C (80°F), an average high of 31°C (87°F) and an average low of 23°C (73°F). Humidity averages 84 per cent.
Located practically on the equator, Singapore experiences a tropical rainforest climate with little variation in year-round temperature. The hot, humid and wet climate is affected by two monsoon winds.
The northeast monsoon lasts from early-November until mid-March when temperatures are slightly cooler than other times of the year. The heaviest rainfall occurs between November and January – usually as short torrential downpours.
The southwest monsoon lasts from June to September when temperatures rise but rainfall eases. May, June and July are the driest months.
Bring or buy an umbrella, as it can rain at any time in Singapore – usually as short torrential downpours.
Note: Air-conditioning in Singapore is usually ferocious, so long sleeves are useful indoors. |
