About Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas
Create your own footprints in the gorgeous soft sand of this wide, 6km-long palm-fringed beach that begins at a rocky headland just a few minutes walk south of Port Douglas.
Things to do and see
Sunbathe on the white sand, picnic in the shade of the soaring palm trees, go beachcombing or make tracks along the water’s edge on a bike. Hire a jet ski or go swimming, windsurfing and kite surfing in the warm, turquoise waters of the Coral Sea.
Set against a backdrop of rainforest-covered mountains, Port Douglas is the perfect holiday base from which to explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed areas of the Daintree and the Great Barrier Reef.
The region also offers a variety of outdoor pursuits for the perfect holiday including scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, white-water rafting, bushwalking, horse riding, bungee jumping and abseiling.

Four Mile Beach?
Any time, but probably the best time to holiday in Port Douglas is during the dry season from June to October when you can expect sunny skies, fresh sea breezes, low humidity and average daytime temperatures of 27ºC.
The so-called ‘green’ or wet season lasts from November to April, with January and February receiving the most rain.
