The best time to visit the Gold Coast is anytime.
Summer (December to February) is generally the most popular time, even though humidity is relatively high and you can expect the occasional storm.
Autumn and spring are more pleasant with less humidity and still plenty of sunshine, while winter, although cooler, is the driest time of the year.
The Gold Coast experiences a subtropical climate characterized by hot, humid summers and mild, dry winters. The Gold Coast region receives more than 300 days of sunshine each year; even winter temperatures average a high of 22ºC.
Summer, from December to February, receives an average high of 29ºC climbing occasionally to a peak of 38ºC, with a low of 21ºC. Humidity can be high with the chance of brief torrential thunderstorms.
Autumn sees an average high of 28ºC in March, 26ºC in April, dropping to 24ºC in May, with an average low around 18ºC dropping to 14ºC in May. March is the wettest month of the year.
Winter brings cooler weather with an average high of 21ºC in June and August and an average low of 10ºC. July is the coolest month. This is the driest time of the year.
Spring sees fine, sunny days with an average high rising from 24ºC in September to 27ºC in November, with an average low of 14ºC in September rising to 18ºC in November.
