Things to do and see
Sunbathe on a choice of seven white-sand beaches and swim and snorkel the island's fringing coral gardens to see colourful reef fish and green sea turtles. Dive the Great Barrier Reef among manta rays and dugongs and, from June to September, spot migrating humpback whales.
Explore the 1368ha national park on three sign-posted walking tracks that wind through the rainforest, looking out for echidnas, bandicoots, green tree frogs and harmless brown and green tree snakes along the way.
