Patmos is located in the Dodecanese island group, which lie east of the Peloponnese. Patmos is closer to Turkey than to mainland Greece.

Leros Municipal Airport (LRS), also known as Leros Airport, is located 9km (5.6mi) from Leros township and port, around 14 minutes by taxi. Taxis operate from the airport terminal building to Leros, taking around 15 minutes.
Athens International Airport (ATH) is located 33km (20mi) southeast of the city centre, around 30 minutes by taxi. The airport offers 24/7 train and bus services to Athens and beyond.
A passport valid for at least six months beyond intended period of stay, a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. No visa is required for a stay of up to 90 days.
The local bus service offers an inexpensive (but limited) way to explore the island and reach all the best beaches. Or you can hire a car, moped, motorcycle or bicycle. Taxis are also available and, as the island is so small, probably cheaper than renting a car.
