Side – Getting there and around

Side is located on the south coast of Turkey, around 55km east of Antalya.

Getting there
A frequent bus and minibus service links Side to Antalya Airport, with daily flights to and from Istanbul and the major cities of Europe and the Middle East.

From Australia: The most convenient and quickest flights are on Singapore Airlines via Singapore connecting on Turkish Airlines to Istanbul and Antalya, Etihad Airways via Abu Dhabi and Istanbul or Emirates via Dubai and Istanbul.

From New Zealand: The most convenient flights are on Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong connecting with Turkish Airlines to Istanbul and Antalya, Singapore Airlines via Singapore connecting on Turkish Airlines to Istanbul and Malaysian Airlines via Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul.

From the UK: Thomas Cook, EasyJet, Thomson and Monarch Airlines offer direct flights daily from London Gatwick to Antalya, and Thomas Cook and Thomson offer direct flights from London Stansted. British Airways and Turkish Airlines offer daily direct flights from London Heathrow to Istanbul.

From the USA: Delta Air Lines and Turkish Airlines offer daily direct flights from New York Kennedy to Istanbul connecting on Turkish Airlines to Antalya. Turkish Airlines offers direct flights from Los Angeles to istanbul.

Flying in – Antalya International Airport is located 13km northeast of the city centre and 55km from Side, around one hour 15 minutes drive. A frequent shuttle bus connects the terminal with the city centre and Side. Taxis and hire cars are also available.

Entry requirements 
A passport valid for at least six months beyond intended period of stay, a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. A visa is required for a stay of up to 90 days and can be obtained at the point of entry.

Getting around
Apart from walking around the old town and harbour, there's a choice of trams, buses and taxis available to further explore the city and beyond.
